Who are Legatees
Legatees are the heart of Legacy South Australia and Broken Hill. For generations, they’ve carried forward a simple but powerful promise, to stand beside the families of veterans with compassion, care and support.
They offer practical help, a listening ear, and a sense of connection to those navigating life after service. From older widows to younger families and children, Legatees work alongside our professional team to ensure no one feels alone.
As a Legatee, you become part of that promise, making a genuine difference in the lives of families across our community.
What Legatees Do
Legatees play a dynamic and impactful role, tailored to the needs of Melbourne Legacy’s beneficiaries:
For Widows, Widowers and partners
Provide companionship, share invitations to Legacy activities, and offer support in navigating aged care, pensions, and financial assistance.
For Younger Families and Children
Build trusted relationships, offer guidance, and help connect families with the support they need.
Across the Community
Participate in fundraising events like Legacy Week, contribute to committees and the Board, and help ensure Legacy can continue its vital work.
